1239 6th Ave. N, Germantown

1239 6th Ave. is a significant gateway into historic Germantown. Formerly the Mad Platter, a local chef-driven favorite dining spot that closed its doors in 2016 after 27 years in business. The new owners wished to preserve the originality of the historic structure while updating the aging and dilapidated exterior, and create a new destination upstairs, which was still in its original apartment form from the 1800’s. RA worked closely with the Nashville Historic Commission, the Germantown Historical Society, and the local neighborhood association to sensitively add on to the building for new functions, such as bathrooms and exit stairs.
